Yesterday my guy Savage Royale and I took a trip to Brooklyn New York and connected with producer ILLMind. ILLMind has production credits for artist such as Drake, J Cole, Dave East, Joell Ortiz and many more.
Just a couple of Cleveland boys representing for the land!

When thinking about keys to success the most important factor is doing something that you truly have a passion for. If you don't have a true passion for your craft you won't be willing to sacrifice the extra work and time it takes to progress. That's just my opinion though. I had the opportunity to check out my guy starkks and the new studio. He interviewed me for his new podcast the cancelled show. It was great to take break from all the practice I've been doing in preparation for the final regional DMC battle in Pittsburgh and just chop it about music. Friday the 19th I'll be going to Pittsburg to represent Cleveland in the world's largest, longest running most reputable DJ competition. I can't wait!
Support, support, support thats all you hear these days from artist. I feel you shouldn't have to ask for support or tell people to do things. The product will speak for itself. When the product is right everything else will happen naturally. Focus on your product and perfecting whatever it is your selling. This applies to more than just music so pay attention. With that being said I've been working on a project with Hip-HopDigital.Com music hand selected not because of affiliations but because the product is A1. The product was RIGHT and we Supported!

Rules
DJ's have a 3-5 minutes to do whatever they want to showcase there skills.
2 turntables and a rane 62 will be available but if you want to use your own mixer or setup you have to bring it with you.
Be prepared for 2 rounds. That means have TWO 3-5 minute routines prepared.

Last night I had the opportunity to rock my guy Aaron James's release party. It was a dope, he definitely went the extra mile with his presentation. The one thing that our most to me was his stage presence and ability to control the crowd. I was definitely impressed. I'm excited to see what the future holds for my guy. I love the atmosphere in Chicago. The whole DJ scene is dope. I can't wait to go back. My brother aka @Neppurrr on IG got some nice photos while we traversed the city. I'm lucky to have such a talented sibling. It's ok to be jealous....

Yesterday I traveled to Washington DC and competed in the DMC DJ Competition. I made Top 6 and got past the elimaination round. I earned the chance to perform a 2nd routine and compete for a Top 3 spot and prizes. Unfortunately I wasn't able to win the battle. I'm excited to see how I do in next battle. Chi-town See you soon! The DMC’s classic solo showcase style DJ battle Rules: DJs will each perform a 2 min. routine for the elimination round. Judges will select the top 6 to advance to the final round. The top 6 will each perform a 6 min. routine. The champion of this battle will advance to the 2017 DMC US Finals.
Its that time again! I've been working on routines and building my skills in preparation of the worlds largest most reputable DJ Competition. This Saturday I'll be representing Cleveland in Washington DC. I can't wait to test my skills against some of the best dj's in the region.

I always wonder what motivates different people or why people have a lack of motivation. It never makes sense to me when I see people that are ok with losing. Maybe its my perspective but I'm not ok with it and I don't want those kinds of people around me. I don't need that energy around me. If your complacent take that somewhere else. I don't want that weak s**t rubbing off on me.
It's rare to meet people that can truly find joy in another person experiencing success. Keep them fakes away from you. They just sap your energy, You can feel it when they are around. They always get real quiet when its time to talk about things of substance. Strategies to improve and grow. They try and poke holes in every idea you have without offering anything constructive to the conversation.
I want to encourage anyone reading this to push themselves. It can be mentally, physically or anyway you can imagine but don't assume your already at your best strive to improve from wherever you are. Keep moving forward!

I had the opportunity to participate as a judge during at The Platform Concert. They had a lot of great prizes for the artist. I'm glad I could be apart of such a great event. Props to all the artist that put themselves out there and join the competition. It's not an easy thing to take a loss. It's not an easy thing to put your pride on the line and allow your art to be judged. Artist keep grinding, stay connected and build your brand because in the end it's just business.
